Today saw my contract end to my passed father . Some 15 years ago i pledged that i will look after my mother till her last breath.

Today 16/03/2021 that last breath was taken . She died nearly 90 years young , without a bad thought in her body for any one . I will dearly miss her RIP mum I loved you .xxx

2020

The Year That wasnt

Today my heart again breaks after the loss of our guitar player Peter Spoke earlier this year it is with heart felt sorrow that we lose another friend and colleague Alan Dove .
What a man .... always in the background , never seeking praise for all his hard work and efforts .He passed on Saturday just gone after dropping off a friend to the train station he returned to his fathers home and passed away.
For me he achieved the heights of praise as he for the last 25 years subsidized his studio for small money to encourage young band to play and enjoy the sounds of their music . When the rental ,electric went up year after year he never changed his prices ....wow that doesn't happen today in this money grabbing society. He played bass guitar , struggling with some of the songs but never really complained , he just kept going at it till it was right.

I will remember his liking for Lemon drizzle cake and roast beef that Karen my wife would cook for a roast dinner for him.Always greafull. Humble , helpful and caring a true gentleman .
He is going to be missed by me as a friend . I use to hear every week from him , helped him with problems , we were each others whipping board for discussions on all aspects .

Good Night young man taken too early .

ON This Coming Saturday we pay tribute to a friend who passed away earlier this year. I want to say that without this man i would not have progressed with any guitar playing .I wish i could thank him but i cant. We play pink Floyd music which is so near to my heart. It will be a tearful day for me as we play songs that he use to play with us .

Peter Spokes 

It is with a sad heart that my friend and colleague Peter passed away on Friday 5th Jan 2018. He was a big influence on me and i want to pay him the respect . His passing came as a shock to us all , his wit and laugh will remain with me forever . He was part of the forming of the band On Thin Ice , didn't we have fun . His funeral will be a celebration of life , hopefully many of his music friends will be there . Pete was one of those guys he would help any one if he could .Brenda his partner bought a smile to his life and we will be there for her .

My Best Friend

Yesterday i attended my best friends unexpected and sudden funeral . He and I have some great memories together growing up from our first big Pink Floyd concert to our first two trip abroad .
We had a fantastic first 20 years with so many good times I will miss him ...... bye Steve a quote from a Pink Floyd song

Cuba

Cuba some 10 hours flight from the uk. Its a snapshot of history probably soon to disappear . With their 1954 cars , some in perfect outside and inside condition. Many of the engines have been altered running on russian chinese technology . The roads are full of pot holes and the people have to all hitch hike to work as there is very little public transport , you  cannot imagine how this is the morm for these people ....doctors nurses lawers and all can not earn enough money for basics such as soap shoes and food ..... communism ...... The army has it all the people have little . It was a place that when i saw what the common people have it broke my heart and i emptied my full suitcase and gave it all to the needy .

This was a typical house , believe me some were awful...

This is the transport used by everyone. Sometime the horse is replaced by two bullocks . Below is a cuban woman posing for money to have photo taken ... the cigars are usually not that big and the building has colour which is very unusall.The cars in Havanna was very nearl all old american cars from the 1950 ..
